Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to the following accidents:
8:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, North Huntington Street near West High Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Philip R. Graff, 38, 8652 Mayflower Avenue, Pensacola, FL; and Rick L. Gerber, 57, North CR 500 East, Syracuse. Both vehicles were traveling south on SR 13. Graff was driving behind Gerber. At the intersection of SR 13 and High Street, Gerber slammed on his brakes to turn west on to High Street without signaling. Graff said he was unable to avoid his vehicle colliding with Gerber’s. Damages up to $1,000.
3:21 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Driver: Thomas A. Crum, 58, Barley Lane, Goshen. Crum said he was driving his vehicle east on West Bowser Road. He said he began to cough for an extensive period of time, causing him to pass out. Crum said he woke up realizing his vehicle struck a large overhead sign, belonging to the property at 1201 South Huntington Street. Crum suffered minor bleeding to the face. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accidents:
4:32 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, Husky Trail near Nature View Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Dawn M. Miner, 49, North Colfax Street 136, Warsaw. Miner stated she was headed to her mother’s residence in Canterbury Apartments, traveling in her vehicle north on Husky Trail. She said she is an unmedicated narcoleptic. Minder said she fell asleep just north of Nature View Drive, causing her vehicle to travel off the right side of the road. Miner’s vehicle struck a street light post causing it to break from the base and expose live electrical wires. Miner attempted to back up her vehicle on to the road and struck a speed limit sign, knocking it from its base as well. Miner’s vehicle sustained heavy front damage and a flat front right tire. Miner claimed to suffer from facial pain following the accident. Damages up to $25,000.
