The leaves are doing their fall thing; changing color, whirling to the ground and reminding us of what’s to come. For those of us who like to stay inside during the coldest months, this is a sort of last hurrah until spring. The Children’s Department at the Warsaw Community Public Library has prepared some activities to complement the other projects and events anyone may have planned for their family.
Once again, the library will participate in the Warsaw Parks Department Fall Family Fun night at Lucerne Park on Friday, Oct.11. Miss Erin will tell stories, and the Parks Department has lined up hayrides, crafts, snacks and a campfire by the lake.
The library will continue its monthly school year activities. Teddy Baby Story Time at 9:30 a.m. each Monday, Toddler Story Time at 10 a.m. every Tuesday, and Preschool Story Time at 10 a.m. each Wednesday. Kids’ Minecraft will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. Fall Break Makerspace will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.
The library’s Greyhound friends will join for Greyt Readers from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. They love to listen to kids read. Lego club will take place from5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.
To celebrate the season, the library planned a Ghoulish, Foolish Fun Night program. This will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Kids are welcome to wear costumes. Enjoy games, Witches Brew (snacks) and crafts. If you enjoyed the Moon Landing event this summer, anyone interested should come to this spooky-themed evening.
Thursday, Oct. 31, will be the annual Trick-or-Treat day at the library. Have little ones come in costume, and surprise the staff with some creativity. Treats will be provided by employees of the Warsaw Community Public Library.
