WARSAW— A Warsaw man faces charges following an alleged battery incident that left one man with a broken jaw.
Bruce Dennis Earl III, 19, 520 N. Park Ave., Warsaw, is charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 19, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a report of battery. The officer went to see the victim at Parkview Hospital. The victim’s mouth was bloody, his face was swollen and his jawline had a protrusion that was off-center.
The victim told the officer that his jaw was broken in three places. He said he had been punched in the face by Earl at Earl’s residence. The victim said he was sitting on the bed and he and Earl were arguing when Earl unexpectedly punched him in the face.
The victim’s ex-girlfriend was with him at the hospital. She told police that the victim came to her residence with a bloody face, saying that Earl had punched him.
Police went to Earl’s evidence and spoke with another man, who said he heard Earl and the victim arguing, then heard fighting. He said he went upstairs at that time and found the victim with a bloody face.
Earl III was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Oct. 8, on a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
