Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:36 pm. Monday, Oct. 7, US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Samantha N. Stutzman, 25, Villa Court, North Manchester; and Cynthia S. Light, 72, Deerfield Path, Warsaw. Stutzman was driving south on Old Road 30 and entered the intersection intending to make a left turn on US 30. Stutzman said she saw a large spider crawling inside her vehicle and became distracted with the spider while making her left turn. Stutzman turned left as Light was coming across the intersection from the other side, resulting in the vehicles colliding. Stutzman had a laceration to her left temple and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. A minor passenger in Stutzman’s vehicle, Tilly Stutzman, North Manchester, complained of chest pain and was taken to KCH with Samantha Stutzman. Light complained of back pain and was taken to KCH. Damage up to $5,000.
3:41 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, Center Street, north of Bronson Street, Warsaw. Driver: Halie N. Lyke, 26, Indiana Street, Warsaw. Lyke’s vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle as Lyke was backing out of a parking space in an alley. Damage up to $10,000.
2:44 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, SR 15 and East Canal Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Maverick R. Pruitt, 21, North CR 100E, Warsaw; and Darius D. Hill, 79, EMS T26 Lane, Leesburg. Pruitt’s vehicle rear-ended Hill’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:53 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, Center Street and Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jaime R. Good, 42, North CR 150W, Columbia City; and Kyle D. Babcock, 57, Blue Heron Court, Warsaw. Good said she was driving west on Center Street and approaching the Buffalo Street intersection. Good did not see the temporary stop sign placed in the center of the intersection and proceeded into the intersection, resulting in her vehicle striking Babcock’s vehicle. Good complained of stomach pain but refused EMS treatment. Babcock complained of pain in his back. A passenger in Babcock’s vehicle, Jayne Babcock, 54, Covington Creek, Fort Wayne, complained of pain in multiple areas of her body and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by EMS. Damage up to $5,000.
