Timmy Barton, 70, Mentone, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family at11:45 am, Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019. He was born April 15, 1949, in Fort Lewis, Washington to the late Edward and Mallie (Richardson) Barton.
On May 29, 1967 in Rochester, he married Evelyn Kelly, she survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Mentone High School. He retired from Dana Corporation in 1999. He loved researching genealogy, competing in car shows with his 1970 Dodge Challenger, and enjoyed spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Barton, Mentone; daughter: Kathy (Michael) Jensen, Mentone; son, Timothy Barton, Mentone; grandchildren: Josh Slone and Ashley Slone, Warsaw; Kayley Slone, Mentone; Elizabeth and Cory Jensen, Bourbon; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Cloey, Brileigh, Olivia, Jalynn, Sophia, Ava, and Livie; brother: Gary Barton, Mentone; sister, Diana White, Mesa, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mallie Barton; brothers: George Mickey Hale, Carl Hale, Terry Barton; sister, Vickie Freeman.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Jason Rice officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana.
Visitation hours will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
