Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accidents:
11:57 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, South CR 1000 West near West CR 1000 South, Mentone. Driver: Tatianna E. Scott, North SR 19, Akron. Scott said she was driving her vehicle north on CR 1000 West when a large black dog entered the roadway. Scott attempted to avoid the dog but was unable to avoid a collision. Damages up to $5,000.
3:07 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2056 North CR 150 West, Warsaw. Driver: Shane M. Bucher, 45, East Mock Road, Milford. Bucher said he was backing his vehicle in a parking lot when his vehicle collided with a post. Damages up to $2,500.
12:59 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, West CR 1350 North near North CR 950 West, Nappanee. Drivers: Lavern D. Mast, 19, Beech Road, Bremen; and Marion D. Ebersole, 71, 7th Road, Bremen. Mast was driving his vehicle with an attached trailer east on West CR 1350 North. Mast said he did not see that a loading ramp on the trailer had shifted and was hanging over the edge of the trailer on the driver’s side. Ebersole said she failed to see the loading ramp as well. Ebersole attempted to pass Mast’s vehicle in her vehicle when her vehicle collided with the loading ramp. No injuries were reported. Damages up to $10,000.
3:24 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, West CR 1350 North near North CR 950 West, Nappanee. Drivers: James E. Gluckin, 75, Stella Drive, Elkhart; and Sky D. Allen, 23, West Sherman Street, Bremen. Gluckin was traveling with his vehicle south on CR 950 West and stopped at a stop sign. Gluckin failed to see Allen’s vehicle approaching from the west on CR 1350 North, pulled out in front of and collided with Allen’s vehicle. Gluckin’s vehicle also collides with a horse-drawn vehicle. The horse sustained minor inquires, bleeding and a horseshoe fell off. Gluckin was airlifted to South Bend Memorial hospital for a possible broken leg. Gluckin is currently in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Damages up to $25,000.
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:04 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, CR 700 South near SR 19, Mentone. Driver: Jacob K. Skeens, 17, North CR 950 West, Etna Green. Skeens said that his vehicle started pulling to the right. When he started to pull the vehicle back to the left, the vehicle overcorrected causing the vehicle to rollover. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to the following accidents:
4:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct 6, US 30 near Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeremy W. Doty, 46, North Lakeview Drive, Warsaw; and Marlin D. Mast, 61, West Millcreek Pike, Wabash. Doty said he was traveling in his vehicle west on US 30 near the Parker Street intersection and collided with Mast’s vehicle. Doty tested positive for alcohol at the scene with a .282 percent BrAC. Damages up to $10,000.
2:44 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, SR 15 near West CR 350 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Trinity J. Evans, 18, Robb Road, Warsaw; and Socorro J. Vallejo, 46, Rieder Street, Warsaw. Evan’s vehicle collided with the rear of Vallejo’s vehicle when she attempted to stop her vehicle at the intersection of SR 15 and West CR 350 North. Damages up to $5,000.
1:32 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, South Buffalo Street near West Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Melanie A. Martin, 38, West Nina Lane, Warsaw; and Philip A. Olson, 25, West Center Street, Warsaw. Martin said she was traveling in her vehicle north on Buffalo Street, approaching the Prairie Street intersection. Martin said she did not see the red light, entered the intersection and collided with Olson’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
10:12 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 534 West CR 300 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Ari S. Velazquez-Cuazitl, 31, Wooster Road, Winona Lake; and Dean C. Bromley, 34, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Velazquez-Cuazitl said he was turning his vehicle into a parking lot when Bromley’s vehicle collided with Velazquez-Cuazitl’s vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
3:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 1 Tiger Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Dominick A. Moore, 17, Charles Street, Winona Lake; and Beth G. Knight, 52, Oak Glen Drive, Warsaw. Moore was backing his vehicle out of a parking space when his vehicle collided with Knight’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department responded to the following accident:
12:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 3294 East US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Ryan D. Fischer, 45, Oak Glen Drive 7, Warsaw; and Jose A. Rivera, 18, South CR 300 East, Claypool. Fischer said he was watching traffic and knew Rivera’s vehicle was ahead of him. Fisher thought Rivera’s vehicle had entered traffic when Fischer’s vehicle collided with the rear of Rivera’s. Damages up to $2,500.
