WARSAW BOASTS BUSY DUNES TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP
Warsaw navigated its way through some quality competition to win the Dunes Tournament, running 4-0 on the day in the 16-team grid.
In bracket works, the Tigers beat Tippecanoe Valley 2-0, Mishawaka Marian 2-0 and South Bend Clay 2-0. In the tourney finale, Warsaw knocked off a very solid New Prairie side 25-19, 25-19. Tournament MVP Avery Hales sent up 77 assists among her handywork. Kennedy Lauck had 27 kills in making the All-Tourney Team and Liz Schmidt was also named to the All-Tourney Team. Kylie Smith added 38 digs for the Tigers.
Tippecanoe Valley had both Makenzie Woodcox and Hannah Engstrand make the All-Tourney team. The Vikes beat both Triton and North Judson in straight sets while falling to Warsaw and Garrett in straights. Stats for Valley were not immediately provided.
Wawasee had Madi Simmons earn All-Tourney status, Simmons posting 38 digs, 17 kills and 16 aces on the day. The Warriors lost to New Prairie in straights, but came back to beat John Glenn, Concord and Buchanan to salvage its day. Kai Jamora and Liz Kleopfer combined for 69 assists and 36 digs, Leslie Vazquez had 17 digs, eight aces and six blocks, Emma Dippon had 24 kills and six blocks and Molly Jones added 12 kills and six blocks.
Triton finished 14th out of 16 teams. Scores and stats for the Trojans were not immediately provided.
NORTHWOOD WINS DUNES JV TITLE
NorthWood ran through its pool play, then had to go the distance with Warsaw to win the trophy in the JV circuit of the Dunes Tournament. The Red Slam beat Tippecanoe Valley, Wawasee and New Prairie in straight sets in pool play, and in the championship, NorthWood outlasted Warsaw 21-25, 25-19, 16-14 for the gold. Stats for the Panthers were not provided.
Wawasee went 3-1 in its play, beating Hebron, North Judson and Triton and falling to NorthWood. Laney Gross had 17 assists and 15 digs, Delaney Hare sent over 14 aces and added 21 digs and Grace Campbell had nine kills.
Valley beat South Central and North Judson and lost to NorthWood and John Glenn. Stats for the Vikings were not provided.

LAKEVIEW 7TH WINS HOME INVITE
Lakeview stood tall in the Tiger Den, winning the seventh grade Lakeview Invite. The hosts beat Indian Springs 21-13, 21-17, Southwood 21-19, 21-15, and Wawasee 25-10, 25-21. In the championship game, Lakeview edged Lincoln 25-19, 14-25, 15-11. Abbey Peterson was a standout for Lakeview with 12 kills, eight assists and seven aces, Daihya Chupp had 33 assists to go with seven kills and seven aces and Maggie Hollon added 14 kills and six aces. Lakeview moves to 26-2 on the season.
Edgewood was 3-1 at Lakeview, taking third place. Edgewood beat Wabash 21-20, 21-15, Summit 21-18, 21-16, and lost to Lincoln 21-19, 21-18 in pool play. In the crossover, Edgewood beat Southwood 25-19, 25-22 for third. Stats for Edgewood were not provided.

EDGEWOOD 8TH GRADE WINS AT LAKEVIEW
Edgewood claimed the other title at Lakeview to keep the trophies in the city with a 4-0 showing. Edgewood beat Lincoln 21-13, 21-20, Summit 21-17, 21-13, and Wabash 21-12, 21-19. In the final, Edgewood knocked off its town rivals Lakeview 25-12, 25-23. Stats for Edgewood were not provided.
