MACONAQUAH 24, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 3
Maconaquah snapped a five-game win streak and handed Tippecanoe Valley its first Three Rivers Conference loss of the year in Bunker Hill Friday night.
Three turnovers and a lost onside kick cost the Vikings, and those miscues along with a strong option running game by the Braves was too much to overcome.
Domingo Santiago hit a 33 yard field goal at the end of the first half for Valley’s only points of the night. Valley put up 237 offensive yards to 316 by the hosts. Tanner Trippiedi threw for 163 yards — Jacob Davis made four catches worth 87 yards and Jalen Potter hauled in three catches worth 76 receiving yards — but also tossed a pair of picks. Trippiedi also rushed for 48 yards.
Carter Little rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown to lead Maconaquah, which moved to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the TRC.
Valley slips to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the TRC. The Vikings will travel to Manchester next Friday night.
