Friday Night Service Will Remember Three Killed At Bus Stop
ROCHESTER — Family members of the three children killed nearly a year ago at a bus stop near Talma are hosting a service at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in Rochester.
The service will be held at Good Family Funeral Home at 1200 W. 18th St. The event is open to the public and being publicized on the Max Strong Facebook page by the family.
The event will include a prayer service, tree planting and speeches that will recap advances in new school bus safety laws that have come since the Oct. 30 tragedy.
The service comes just days ahead of the scheduled trial of Alyssa Shepherd, the driver accused of hitting four children when she allegedly drove past the bus which had stopped with flashing lights and an extended stop arm.
The accident happened on SR 25, north of Rochester. Xzavier and Mason Ingle and their sister, Alivia Stahl, were killed. A fourth child, Maverik Lowe, suffered extensive injuries.
Shepherd is facing multiple criminal charges. The trial is set to begin Oct. 15 in Fulton Superior Court.
