Anne E. Utter
Anne E. Utter, 80, Winona Lake and formerly of Mentone, passed at 1:17 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at the Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1938, in Warsaw, to Franklin and Esther (Dugley) Nelson. She married on Sept. 16, 1960, in Mentone to Terry L. Utter, who preceded on July 9, 1998.
She had been a USDA Meat Inspector for 16 years traveling the entire state. The Utters were the owners of the Utter’s Oil Company of Mentone.
She attended Burket School for many years and then graduated from Mentone High School in 1956. She had been a lifetime member and supporter of Kosciusko County 4-H Club. She also was a member of the Psi Iota Xi. She enjoyed her traveling bowling team, gardening, and playing softball for the Mentone Royals. She served as a Casa Case Worker in Warsaw for many years as well.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Glenn) Novitski, Spencerville; grandchildren: Matthew, Eric, and Alex; great-grandchildren: Raelyn and Hunter.
Preceded in death by parents: Frank and Esther; husband, Terry Utter; daughter, Leigh A. Utter; and brother, Robert Nelson.
Funeral services will be from noon, Friday, Oct. 4, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, with Pastor Jason Rice officiating.
Burial will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
Visitation hours will be from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, Oct. 4, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
