WCS FFA Chapter Receives Donation From Echoes Of The Past
WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School’s FFA chapter recently welcomed Dan Ransbottom, president of Echoes of the Past, to present during the chapter’s monthly meeting.
Ransbottom followed his presentation with a donation to the chapter. The $500 donation will assist Warsaw FFA in funding a variety of events throughout the school year. Ransbottom also donated T-shirts to FFA students to thank students for their assistance in binding wheat this past July.
The Warsaw FFA chapter participates in Career Development Events, Leadership Development Events and community service projects. Some common CDEs students in the chapter participate in include forestry judging, crops judging, parliamentary procedure, public speaking, demonstrations, scrapbook and livestock skill-a-thon. Students also attend leadership conferences at the Indiana FFA leadership Center, the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis and the state FFA Convention at Purdue.
In addition, the chapter hosts monthly meetings at WCHS to share information to members. Each year most of the Warsaw FFA chapter members compete in at least one Career/Leadership Development Event or community service activity.
Warsaw FFA also organizes community service projects and participates in several other external projects each year. The chapter hosts a Community Appreciation Supper in order to give back to the community by providing free meals to guests. Students also adopt a family during the holiday season in conjunction with Combined Community Services to help ensure community members have a great holiday season. The Warsaw FFA chapter often covers a portion of expenses for conferences and conventions so that chapter members can gain valuable leadership skills, memories and friendships. Students would not be able to complete these activities without the assistance and support received from the community.
The Warsaw FFA Chapter thanks Echoes of the Past and all other sponsors and community members that have assisted the chapter and its members in achieving success.
