Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
8:27 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, EMS D21 Lane, Syracuse. Drivers: Velma Ulrich, 71, EMS D21 Lane, Syracuse; and Mark C. Sill, 55, West CR 1000S, Akron. Ulrich was stopped at the stop sign on EMS D21B Lane. Sill’s vehicle was traveling east on EMS D21 Lane and approaching the intersection of EMS D21B Lane. Ulrich said she was looking for things inside her vehicle and did not see Sills’ vehicle approaching when she began pulling out into the intersection. The vehicles collided. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:32 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, North Warren Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jordy B. Torpy, 54, East High Street, Warsaw. Torpy was backing her vehicle into a parking space when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damages up to $2,500.
4:03 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, North Park Avenue near Glessner Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Darrell W. Hatcher, 34, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg; and Jarod L. Rosbrugh, 34, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Hatcher said he was backing his vehicle out of Lucerne Park onto North Park Avenue when his vehicle struck Rosbrugh’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
10:42 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, East US 30 near East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Anita L. Corkwell, 63, Hurstland Court, Columbia City; and Berta C. Gayheart, 72, West Main Street 313, Warsaw. Corkwell said she was traveling west on East US 30 approaching the intersection of East Center Street. She said she took her eyes off the road for a second. When she looked up, Gayheart’s vehicle was stopped in front of her, causing a rear-end collision. Gayheart complained of shoulder and upper arm pain. Damages up to $10,000.
7:46 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, East Center Street, south of South Harrison Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kilea A. Girten, 31, Crimson Lane, Plymouth; and Pamela S. Harvey, 57, Sally Street, Warsaw. Girten was traveling east on Center Street, approaching the intersection of Harrison Street. As she approached the intersections she couldn’t see the traffic light. This caused her to strike Harvey’s vehicle. Harvey sustained a hip and upper leg injury as a result of the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
