XC Results: Sept. 14
TIPPECANOE VALLEY CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL
Tippecanoe Valley held its cross country invitational Saturday, playing host to a number of high school and junior high teams.
The host Vikings finished ninth in both the boys and girls high school races, Valley’s boys putting up a score of 236, and the girls tallying 239.
In the boys’ race, Matthew Howes finished 27th for the hosts with a time of 18:25.7. Mitchell Smith finished 32nd in a time of 19 minutes flat, Chase Miller was 51st in 10:17.2, Jace Holloway was 59th in 20:50, and Evan Myers was 75th in 22:35.7.
Triton’s boys placed seventh, meanwhile, with a score of 210. Rusty Reichard led the Trojans in 17th place with an 18:22.9 stop, Brandon Kitch was 35th in 19:06.5, Ty Ferry finished 43rd in 19:53.7, and Tyler Gladieux was 52nd in 20:20.5.
Lakeland Christian didn’t field a full team, but David Platow clocked 20:22.9, and Sam Turner turned in a 21:17 time. Gabe Anderson and Josiah Milelr were both disqualified.
Leading Valley in the girls high school race was Valeria Jimenez in 33rd place with a time of 23:57.5. Maria Henderson was 43rd (25:19), Ella Myers was 50th (26:22), Talia Holder crossed the line in 54th place (26:59.5), and Ava Craig was 59th (27:17).
Neither Lakeland Christian nor Triton fielded complete teams.
Rebecca Bass clocked 27:11.7, and Kathryn Monsma finished in 33:59.2 for the Lady Cougars.
Makenna May recorded a 24:55 stop to pace the Lady Trojans, while Anela Hill ran a 25:24.6 time, Valerie Eib clocked 27:06.3, and Brenna Weissert finished in 31:45.4.
Meanwhile, in the junior high boys race, Triton finished seventh with a score of 154, and Tippecanoe Valley was ninth with 209 points.
Jaydon Heckaman ran a 12:59.5 to pace the Trojans in 13th place, Andrew Gould was 33rd (13:51.9), Caden Large was 80th (13:58.4), Connor Stetzel was 36th (14:00.3), and Travis Barnhart finished 38th (14:10.5).
Kynan Cords led Valley in 15th place (13:03.5), Samuel Sherk was 46th (14:35), Ryan Maenhout finished 49th (14:50.2), Austin Winscott was 51st (15:00), and Aiden Johnson was 55th (15:36).
Jude Hall ran a 12:33.8 for Lakeland Christian, while Caleb Quiggle finished in 14:36.1, and Isaac Gagnon was exactly a minute back.
Valley’s girls finished fourth in the junior high girls race with a score of 125. Chesnee Miller was the individual champ in 12:11.4. Bailey Bussard placed 18th (14:07.8), Loran Apt was 28th (14:30.5), Jetta Hughes placed 32nd (14:42.2), and Carlee Snyder was 46th (16:19.5).
Triton’s girls were ninth in the race with a 213 score. Rilee Bemish entered the chute in 29th place (15:28.2), Addison Albright was 40th (15:31.9) followed by Kayla Poff in 41st place (15:38.7) and Rory Heckaman in 43rd (15:57.1), while Ashlie McAndrews was 50th (16:41).
WARSAW, WAWASEE AT WILDCAT CLASSIC INVITATIONAL
Northern Lakes Conference competitors Warsaw and Wawasee were both among the field at the Wildcat Classic Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan Saturday, the Lady Tigers taking ninth with 225 points, and the Lady Warriors finishing 12th with a score of 334 in the girls race.
West Lafayette won the invite with a 56-point tally, while Hamilton Southeastern was second with a score of 65, and Harrison placed third with 97 points.
Warsaw was Led by Freshman Mikayla Mimnaugh in 34th place. Also scoring for the Tigers were Jadyn Kolesiak, Macelyn Marcuccilli, Alex Price and Whitney Shepherd. Times were not available for Warsaw’s girls for the meet.
Emma Ebright paced Wawasee’s girls in a time of 21:22. Cammy Kryder was 66th in 21:53, Ella Beezley finished 77th in 22:33, Lily Tyler was 94th in 23:05, and Mariah Hurst clocked a personal-best 23:31 for 102nd place.
Wawasee’s boys finished seventh in their race. Karlson Hand was seventh individually in 17:35, Cam Powell was 36th in 18:42, Thomas Conley and Trvor Smith were 44th and 46th, respectively, in times of 18:51 and 18:55, and Ian Kaase completed the Warriors’ team score with a 20:05 time, good enough for 81st place.
The Warriors and the Tigers will meet again on Tuesday at NorthWood in an NLC three-way scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
