The Panthers extended their unbeaten start to 9-0 with a dominant sweep of Bethany Christian Friday night.
NortWood surrendered a total of five games in singles play as Wes Troyer won, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Ben Vincent won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2, and Chase Horner cruised, 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3 position.
Jack Wysong and Landon Holland hung in through a competitive first set with Bethany’s Nathan Oostland and Joseph Mounsithiraj for an eventual 6-4, 6-2 win at the 1 doubs position, and Bryce Harner and Treyton Martin did likewise versus Will Nisley and Tyson Miller on the other varsity doubles court for a 6-3, 6-2 win.
NorthWood’s JV eked out a 5-4 win opposite the Bruins, meanwhile.
The Panther varsity improves to 9-0 with Friday’s win.
NORTHRIDGE 4, WAWASEE 1
Wawasee dropped to 0-4 in Northern Lakes Conference play with a loss to the Raiders at home Friday night.
Holden Babb earned the Warriors their only win battling back from a first-set loss at 2 singles on the way to a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(4) tiebreaker win. Jack Gibbon won seven games at 3 singles but came up short, 6-3, 6-4, at 3 singles, and Zach Leedy won three games in the second set before succumbing, 6-3, 6-0 at 1 singles.
Colin Rhodes and Zeke Keim took four games at 2 doubles on the way to a 6-2, 6-2 loss.
Wawasee’s JV split with Northridge, 3-3.
The Warrior varsity slides to 3-8.
