Live Well Kosciusko To Host Community Health Awards Event
WARSAW — Live Well Kosciusko will be hosting a Community Health Well-being and Engagement Awards event at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Winona Heritage Room, located at 901 Park Ave., Winona Lake.
Rob Parker, president and CEO of Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, will be Master of Ceremonies. Jennifer Pferrer, executive director of Wellness Council of Indiana, will be the keynote speaker.
Twelve awards will be presented at the event. Categories include:
- Health & Well-being Committee of the Year (awarded to a wellness committee that creates a culture of health and well-being in their organization)
- Engagement and Culture Committee of the Year (awarded to a committee that creates engagement and builds a distinctive culture in their organization through meaningful celebrations and events)
- Community Coalition of the Year (awarded to a community coalition that addresses health, well-being, engagement, social determinants of health or economic stability in Kosciusko County)
- Community Program of the Year (two awards given-one for adult programs/one for youth programs) (awarded to a community non-profit or government program that addresses health, well-being, engagement, social determinants of health, or economic stability in Kosciusko County)
- Health, Well-being and Engagement Leadership Champion of the Year (awarded to a leader that demonstrates commitment and support towards a culture of health, well-being and engagement)
- Economic Stability Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that addresses the impact of economic stability on well-being (wages, benefits, retirement and financial services and access)
- Social Determinants of Health Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that addresses the impact of education, housing, transportation, childcare and/or access to health services on well-being)
- Health, Well-being, and Engagement Data and Evaluation Usage Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that collects and uses meaningful data to develop and evaluate a well-being strategy and evaluates that strategy for impact)
- Tobacco Cessation Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that champions tobacco cessation)
- Cancer Care Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that addresses cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and/or survivorship)
- Diversity & Inclusion Champion of the Year (awarded to an organization that creates an inclusive and welcoming culture by challenging inequalities, barriers and bias)
Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with lunch and program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
