Creek Cleanup, Meeting About Pike Lake Both On Saturday, Sept. 14
WARSAW — Two events focused on the health of Pike Lake are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14.
At 8:30 a.m., Saturday, volunteers will gather at the Fireman’s Building, 1013 E. Arthur St., on Pike Lake and begin working on cleaning up part of Deeds Creek.
Groups involved include Paddlers For Conservation and the Lilly Center For Lakes And Streams. Participation is suitable for anyone 12 and older. Volunteers will clear logjams and other material from portions of the creek. Come with work boots and gloves; bug spray will be available on-site. Lunch will be available for those who RSVP.
At 1 p.m., representatives from The Watershed Foundation, Warsaw Stormwater Utilities and the Lilly Center For Lakes And Streams and the Pike Lake Association will participate in a meeting at the Fireman’s Building to discuss an action plan for dredging of Deeds Creek and sediment control efforts.
