Max Devon Eisenhour
Max Devon Eisenhour, 83, peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 9, 2019.
He was born to Roy Calvin and Grace Verena (Miller) Eisenhour on Nov. 5, 1935. He worked several jobs during his lifetime which included farming, Commodore Homes, Burger Dairy, Goshen Milk, and 35 years at Relizon/Work Flow One from which he retired.
On Sept. 19, 1954, he married Lola, the love of his life. They had two children, Tom and Susan and were together for nearly 60 years. Max and Lola loved to travel and attend German festivals. They also joined any organization with dancing, had a beautiful flower garden, and loved playing tabletop games, such as Euchre and dominoes, with friends and family. In recent years, Max enjoyed going to his great-grandchildren’s ball games and concerts and to basketball games to watch his son referee, where he made friends with everyone within 50 feet of him.
Max is preceded in death by both parents, his brother Jay, his daughter Susan, and his wife. He is survived by his siblings Larry (Cora) Eisenhour, Rex (JoEllen) Eisenhour, Thelma (Keith) Burger, and Sue (Nevin) Troyer; his son Tommy Max (Beatriz) Eisenhour; his grandchildren Sarah (James) Ennis, Jesse (Elizabeth) Eisenhour, Beatriz (David) Wright, Thomas (Alexis) Eisenhour, and Esther Sue Renee Eisenhour; and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, at Bethany Church of the Brethren in New Paris.
