Kosciusko CROP Hunger Walk To Be Held On Sunday, Sept. 29
WARSAW — The annual CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 501 E. Arthur St., Warsaw.
The event, that started in 1969, is celebrating its 50th anniversary across the United States. The first walk was held on Oct. 17, 1969, in Bismark, N.D., and now over 1,600 walks are held annually. The walk has been held in Kosciusko County since the early 1970s.
Money collected from the event will support Church World Services and 25% will stay in the area to fund items for Thanksgiving baskets given to families identified by Warsaw Community Schools. St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Warsaw heads up the distribution of the baskets to families in need in cooperation with the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association and are churches.
