Volleyball Results: Sept. 5
WARSAW 3, GOSHEN 0
Warsaw earned its first win in the Northern Lakes Conference season with a quick 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 romp of the visiting RedHawks Thursday night. Warsaw again had a large contingent of contributors in its quest, with Abbie Porter recording 10 digs and five aces and Betty Barnett getting 13 kills and four aces. Kaylee Weeks, Gwyn Bellamy and Abby Sanner combined for 27 kills, Avery Hales had 39 assists and two blocks, and Kylie Smith and Kendra Love combined for 27 digs.
The Tiger JV also cruised past Goshen 25-12, 25-13. Tessa Gainey set up 25 points and Allison Heinrich had 10 kills. The Tigers had 15 aces, led by Madeline Schannep’s six whistles.
The Tiger frosh saw Lauren Eastwood record 13 assists, five kills and five aces in leading the team to a 25-7, 25-11 win over Goshen. Sophia Adams added six digs and Delaney Silveus had four digs, two aces, one kills and one assist.
TRITON 3, CULVER 0
Triton added its second Hoosier North Athletic Conference win of the week in a 25-16, 25-8, 25-14 sweep of Culver. Molly McFarland and Jaela Faulkner combined for 23 digs, Faulkner and Dylanie Miller each had four aces, Miller and Emma Hepler sent up 16 assists, to which Lexia Hostrawser led the Trojans with seven kills.
The Triton JV also came through with a big win, going 25-14, 25-8 over the Cavs.
PLYMOUTH 3, WAWASEE 0
Wawasee lost its first game of the NLC calendar, 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 at Plymouth. Dylan Konieczny led Wawasee’s offense with eight kills, closely followed by Leslie Vazquez with seven and Emma Dippon with six. Vazquez added 13 digs and Kai Jamora had 15 assists.
Wawasee claimed the JV contest with a 25-9, 9-25, 15-10 result. Amber Beer had four kills and three aces, Delaney Hare added eight digs and Amanda Allen sent up eight assists.
The Warriors also got the freshmen win, scoring a 25-20, 25-22 victory. Zoe Taylor was singled out with a big game in service for the Lady Warriors.
NORTHWOOD 3, CONCORD 0
NorthWood made it look easy in a 25-13, 25-13, 25-12 in its first game back at The Pit. The Minutemen could do nothing about Maddy Payne at the net, the senior Panther hammering 20 kills and adding a block. Alea Minnich added eight kills, Kendal Miller had 14 digs and Caroline Mullet again was all over the place with 36 assists, 12 digs, three aces and a block.
The Red Slam JV had to work, but came out ahead in a 25-18 19-25, 15-9 win over the Minutemen. Jayden Gessinger paced NorthWood with 14 assists and 14 digs and Annika Bennett had eight assists, seven kills and two aces. Tori Miller added 16 digs and five aces.
MACONAQUAH 3, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1
Valley suffered its first loss in the Three Rivers Conference at the hands of the Braves, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-22. Despite the loss, Valley had some big production from Makenzie Woodcox with 21 kills, Hannah Engstrand with 35 assists and Brayden Baney with 22 digs.
The Valley JV also lost at Maconaquah 21-25, 25-15, 17-15. Macy Kirchenstien had nine assists and four aces for the Vikes.
The C-Team for Valley took home a 25-20, 25-18 win at Maconaquah. Karli Hogue had six digs and Abby Koch had 12 assists for Tippecanoe Valley.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN JV 3, GRANGER CHRISTIAN 2
LCA weathered the storm with Granger Christian to win its three games 25-18, 25-9 and 15-13. Maddie Silveus led the ace column with seven followed closely by Abby Bosch with five. Cara McCrum had five kills. LCA, trailing 13-6 in the fifth game, scored the final nine points of the frame to stand tallest at the end.

Kenzie Chivington had 19 aces and five kills in the two games while Jael Numfukwe added five kills for Lakeview.

Melania Hawblitzel had seven aces to lead Edgewood for the evening.

The Warriors grade girls traveled to Goshen and defeated them in two sets 25-8 and 25-16. Stats were not provided.

The Warriors also defeated Goshen in straight sets by a score of 25-15, 25-22. Stats were not provided.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 8TH GRADE 2, GRANGER CHRISTIAN 0
Lakeland Christian Academy defeated Granger Christian into straight sets 25-7, 25-11. Addisyn Daley led the Cougars with seven aces while Jordan Rivers and Amaya Hoyt combined for seven kills. Kelsey Cox added three kills and two aces.
WAWASEE 8TH GRADE 2, WESTVIEW 0
The Lady Warriors controlled both sets against Westview to win the match 25-19, 25-14. Aly McClintic led a balanced team effort with a solid performance of two kills and 4 aces while Kaydence Shepherd and Jolie Likens led in serving by combining for 10 aces and 16 total points.
WAWASEE 7TH GRADE 2, WESTVIEW 0
The Lady Warriors turned in another impressive performance by winning in consecutive sets against an overmatched Westview team 25-14, 25-11. Abby Dusek led the way by serving 12 points including 10 aces while Olivia Horn added nine service points and four aces.
