Boys Tennis Results: Sept. 5

NORTHWOOD 5, ELKHART MEMORIAL 0
NorthWood tennis moved to 2-0 in Northern Lakes Conference play with a clean sweep of Elkhart Memorial on Thursday.
The Panthers surrendered just two games on the five varsity courts combined on their way to the win. Wes Troyer won 6-1, 6-0 at 1 singles, while Ben Vincent and Chase Horner shut out their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Jack Wysong and Landon Holland did likewise at 1 doubles, and Bryce Harner and Treyton Martin earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the 2 doubs position.
NorthWood’s junior varsity also swept Memorial, 6-0.
The varsity Panthers moved to 6-0 overall with a 2-0 NLC mark. They’ll host Plymouth next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 5, LAVILLE 0
Tippy swept LaVille in a meet on the road in Lakeville Thursday.
Payton Mills won 6-1, 6-0 at 1 singles, Dylan Neese was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at 2 singles, and Owen Kirchenstein won 6-0, 6-0 at 3 singles. The Valley doubles teams both won via forfeit.
TRITON 4, WHITKO 1
Triton moved to an even 4-4 with a convincing win at Whitko Thursday.
John Gardner was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at 1 singles, Connor Large held off Aiden Hoffman in the first set at 2 singles en route to a 7-6(2), 6-2 win, Jared Bules and Tyler Heckaman bounced back from a tiebreaker loss in the opening set for a 6-7(3),6-2, 6-2 win at 1 doubles, and Cole McKinney and Chandler Westafer were 6-1, 6-3 winners at 2 doubles.
Triton’s JV also beat Whitko 2-0.
CONCORD 5, WAWASEE 0
Wawasee players were competitive on several courts but still lost in straight sets everywhere in a Northern Lakes Conference meet with Concord.
Zach Leedy took six games from Bryson Schrock at 1 singles before succumbing, 6-2, 6-4, and Holden Babb also won six games at 2 singles before falling 6-3, 6-3 to Mitchell Whitehead. Colin Rhoades and Zeke Keim had the most competitive score at 2 doubles, but lost 7-5, 6-3 to Brayden Newburn and Bailey Morrison.
The Warriors dip to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in NLC play. Wawasee’s JV also fell, 5-0.
