WARSAW — A North Webster man was recently arrested after allegedly removing his tracking device while on home detention.
Kenneth Lee Sanchez, 21, 309 S. Main St., North Webster; also showing an address of 105 S. Wabash St. No. 2, Converse, is charged with escape, a level 6 felony.
On Jan. 16, Sanchez was found guilty of three counts of burglary and was sentenced in Kosciusko County. On Feb. 11, he was formally accepted into the Kosciusko County Community Corrections Home Detention Program. That same day, Sanchez was secured with a GPS tracking device.
According to court documents, Sanchez was ordered to remain under the direct supervision of home detention officers until his sentencing was completed. Sanchez was to be released from the program on Oct. 29, 2021.
On July 15, Sanchez, without permission or authorization from a home detention officer, cut or removed the GPS tracking device that was assigned to monitor him.
Sanchez was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 29.
