NORTHWOOD BOYS 4, CONCORD 3
NorthWood pulled off one of the bigger upset the program has had in recent years at Wellfield Park. While Concord is not ranked to start the year and NorthWood started No. 14 in Class 2-A, the Minutemen have had the Panthers’ number in recent years. That changed with a hat trick from Andre DeFrietas, who notched his third in the final minute for the game winner. NorthWood hadn’t scored a goal against Concord in nearly a decade before Saturday’s win.
LOGANSPORT BOYS 9, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 1
Tippy scored its first goal of the season, but didn’t have nearly enough firepower to keep up with the Berries in the first game of the Blueberry Festival tournament. Christian Ramirez had the goal, assisted by John Ruiz.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY BOYS 2, MISHAWAKA 2
Ramirez converted on a penalty kick, and Caleb Petgen’s header equalized for the Vikings to record its first point of the campaign. Keeper Alexis Hernandez kept Valley in the contests with over a dozen stops for the day.
GRACE WOMEN 2, GRACELAND 0
A pair of first-half goals propelled No. 15 Grace women’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Graceland on Saturday.
The Lady Lancers (4-0) continued their undefeated start to the year thanks to goals from Joana Schimmel and Alexis Larimore.
Grace outshot the Yellowjackets (2-1) by a 17-7 count, and Bethany Blackwood played well in goal for Grace to earn her third shutout of the season. Blackwood made five saves in her 90-minute shutout. She was protected well by McKenna Cruz, Lea Moessinger, Hannah Tkacz and Brooke Kohler.
NORTHWOOD GIRLS 2, BREMEN 0

CONCORD GIRLS 8, WAWASEE 1
