Panthers Earn Big Win Over Rival CMA
NAPPANEE — While NorthWood football hosted Class 3A, No. 1 Bishop Chatard in a marquee match-up at Andrews Field Friday night, Panther tennis moved to 4-0 with a big win over powerhouse program Culver Military Academy on the team’s home courts in a rare Friday night meet.
Ben Vincent beat Paul Wilson 7-5, 6-1 at 2 singles, Jack Wysong and Landon Holland beat Nate Posner and Aydin Turgut, 6-3, 6-1 at 1 doubles, and Bryce Harner and Treyton Martin beat Simon Grim and Johnny Yang, 6-2, 6-4 at 2 doubles as NorthWood topped the visiting Eagles, 3-2.
Chase Horner lost a tight match with A.J. Davidson at 3 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, and Wes Troyer fell 6-4, 6-3 to Niko Warnholtz at the 1 singles position.
The junior varsity Panthers also topped their CMA counterparts, 4-3 to improve to 3-0.
