NORTHWOOD AT WARSAW INVITE
No. 7-ranked NorthWood set a new program record at the Warsaw Invitational, but it wasn’t enough to catch second-ranked Homestead, which took the title Saturday.
The Lady Panthers’ 330 represented a new program-low at Stonehenge, but Homestead posted four of the top five scores on the way to a 308 and the team title. No. 20 Lake Central finished third with a 344, and the host Tigers placed fourth with a 372 at the 10-team tilt.
NorthWood sophomore Cybil Stillson’s 74 earned her low-medalist honors, and she was the only non-Homestead golfer to finish in the top five as Simone Stenk shot 76, Megan Yoder and Madi Dabagia both carded 77, and Morgan Dabagia turned in a 78 for the Spartans.
Stillson was in in 35 with birdies on 2 and 9. Delaney Davis shot 83 playing in the fourth pairing for Wood, Kirsten Schrock shot 86, and Makenna Gall put up an 87. Breanna Goss’ 88 was the Panthers’ fifth score.
Warsaw was also led by a sophomore as Marie Frazzetta scored 85 on her home course. Grayson Kilburn put up a 90, Sydney Lancaster shot 97, and Delaney Byron’s 100 completed the Tigers’ team score. Brooklyn Fitzgerald shot 123.
Warsaw and Wood will play again at Stonehenge Tuesday in a Northern Lakes Conference three-way with Elkhart Memorial.
NORTHWOOD AT CGA INVITE
While NorthWood’s varsity 1 team collected runner-up honors at the Warsaw Invite, the Panthers’ varsity 2 team placed fourth at the Culver Girls Academy Invitational with a 397. Crown Point topped the field with a 334, Northridge shot 351 for second, and the host Eagles were third with a 379.
Kylee Gall’s 88 was good enough for eighth place individually. Abbie Richner shot 93, Riley Kitson posted a 101, and Bella Sechrist and Kira Schrock put up a pair of 115s.
WAWASEE AT ROCHESTER INVITE
Wawasee finished just a stroke out of second place with a 384 to Maconaquah’s 383 and Western’s 368 at the Rochester Invitational at Round Barn Saturday. Tippecanoe Valley shot a 435 for 10th place in the team standings.
Belle Brunner’s 91 paced Wawasee, while Taylor Cripe carded 93, and Jadison Rostochak shot 95. Valerie Haessig scored 105, and Rhian Galloway shot a career-low 107.
Valley’s individual scores were not available.
The Warriors will host NLC foe Goshen at Maxwelton Monday. Valley plays Whitko, North Miami and Manchester on Thursday.
