PLYMOUTH 3, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 0
Plymouth maintained its edge on Valley in a clean sweep Wednesday in Plymouth by a 25-16, 25-10, 25-13 card.
Valley wasn’t able to get much offense going, with Makenzie Woodcox leading the team with eight kills and 1.5 blocks, and Hannah Engstrand with 16 assists. Brayden Baney added seven digs on the back line and sent over an ace.
Plymouth escaped the JV contest with a 2-1 win, 25-16, 22-25, 15-8. Stat leaders for Tippecanoe Valley included Karli Hogue with 10 digs, Macy Kirchenstien with 10 assists, Mallory Bowers and Shaylin Wilcox with four kills apiece, and Abby Koch with five aces.
Valley (1-1) hosts West Noble Thursday in a rematch of last fall’s sectional championship.
MISHAWAKA 3, TRITON 0
Triton showed more fight as the night went on, but couldn’t catch up with Mishawaka in a 3-0 loss at the Cave. Mishawaka had little trouble in a 25-14 win in set one, and while Triton showed more offensive punch in the second, Mishawaka pulled out a 25-18 win. Game three had Triton keeping pace, but Mishawaka’s attack kept it ahead in a 25-21 clincher.
Abbey Viers and Lexia Hostrawser each posted four kills for the Trojans while Emma Hepler and Dylanie Miller combined for 13 assists. Miller added two aces and Molly McFarland had 15 digs.
Triton’s JV came through with a 25-20, 15-25, 15-6 win over Mishawaka in the night’s opener.
Triton (0-2) hosts Oregon-Davis Thursday evening.
