Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Gregory E. Wyman, 36, East Center Street, Warsaw; Stephanie S. Leek, 49, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. Wyman told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into Leek’s vehicle he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.
2:13 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Bruce Rose, 62, South Third Street, Pierceton. Rose told police he was backing his vehicle into a parking space and backed it into a parked vehicle he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.
2:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, North Detroit Street, south of Gilliam Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Brittany C. Brown, 31, CR 146, New Paris; Dennis F. Bender, 76, Apple Court, Winona Lake. Brown told police she was driving her vehicle behind the vehicle driven by Bender, traveling north on Detroit Street when a third vehicle cut off the vehicle driven by Bender, causing both motorists to brake quickly. Brown said her vehicle could not stop in time to avoid a rear-end collision with the vehicle driven by Bender. Damage up to $5,000.
10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 56 E. Bell Drive, Warsaw. Driver: James A. Halasz, 61, East Washington Street, Lakeville. Halasz was backing his vehicle in a parking lot when he struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
8:54 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, East Center Street, east of North Tamarack Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lindsay R. Lingofelter, 24, East Center Street, Warsaw; and Stacy L. Price, 36, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Lingofelter was traveling west on East Center Street when she rear-ended Price’s vehicle. Price complained of back pain after the collision and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
