Bell Library Announces New Book Arrivals
MENTONE — The Bell Memorial Public Library has announced new book arrivals coming soon. Those soon-to-arrive selections include “A Reluctant Bride” by Jody Hedlund, “The Russia Account” by Stephen Coonts, “Scout Moor, Junior Manager” by Theresa Howell, “A Song of Joy” by Lauraine Snelling, “Storm Rising” by Ronie Kendig, “The Strawberry Thief” by Joanne Harris, “The String” by Caleb Breakey, “Take Your Pet to School Day” by Linda Ashman, “Three Women” by Lisa Tadden, “The Turn of Midnight” by Minette Walters, “Until the Mountains Fall” by Connilyn Cossette, “Vow of Justice” by Lynette Eason, “The Warning” by James Patterson, “What Do We Need Men For?” by E. Jean Carroll, “A Year Inside Ms-13” by Juan Jose D’aubuisson and “Yours Truly, Thomas” by Rachel Fordham.
Teen Book Club will be meeting Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. It currently is a free read. Anyone interested in joining can contact Elyza at (574) 353-7234.
The library is reminding crafters that Creative Corner will take place on Tuesday evenings now, instead of Thursdays. Creative Corner will meet Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. This month, the library is hosting a painting class where patrons can paint a keepsake canvas of their furry friend. The library requests a jpeg photo of selected pets emailed to [email protected] so that library staffers can convert it. The deadline for submitting photos is Aug. 13. Cost of this class is $5 and sign up is requested. Interested patrons can contact Billie or Sharon at (574) 353-7234. Creative Corner is for adults only, ages 18 and older.
The library will host a basic computer skills class on Tuesday, Aug. 20. This class will cover how to use Windows, keyboard shortcuts, basic internet skills and email usage. There is no cost to attend, however sign up is required and a minimum of three participants is required. For more information, please call the library at (574) 353-7234.
Participants of Hoopla Digital can log on to read these audiobooks: “Terms of Endearment” by Donna Andrews, “The Right Swipe” by Alisha Rai and “Careful What You Wish For” by Hallie Ephron. Kids and Teens can browse these titles: “The Poison Jungle” by Tui T. Sutherland and “The Berenstain Bears, Epic Dog Show” by Stan Berenstain.
The library has some books remaining from its book sale. Patrons can visit the library’s front lobby to see what is still available. Prices are as follows: 25 cents hardback or five for $1, 10 cents paperbacks, 50 cents for audiobooks and 25 cents for music CDs. DVDs as marked. Some are $1 and some are $3.
