Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
6:59 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, East May Lane, west of North CR 700E, Leesburg. Driver: Stephen R. White, 77, East CR 650N, North Webster. White told police he was turning his vehicle around at the end of a cul-de-sac when his vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
8:09 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, South County Farm Road, north of West CR 550S, Warsaw. Driver: Brent L. Hyde, 21, West Courtland Drive, Silver Lake. Hyde told police he was driving his vehicle north on County Farm Road when something broke on his vehicle while traveling through a curve, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. An infant in the vehicle was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. Damage up to $2,500.
10:02 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, West US 30, east of North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Moreno Garcia-Rene, 31, North Laramie Avenue, Chicago; Michael F. Wilson, 37, East Hawthorn Drive, Warsaw. Garcia-Rene told police he was driving his vehicle east on US 30 and that he saw the light at SR 19 turn green. The vehicle driven by Wilson was stopped at the intersection. Garcia-Rene told police he could not stop his vehicle in time before it struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Wilson. Damage up to $10,000.
Milford
Officers from the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
2:38 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, Milford. Drivers: Nancy K. Schisler, 65, M Dee Acres, Nappanee; James Lindeman, 49, CR 29, Syracuse. Schisler told police she was driving her vehicle north on Higbee Street and was following the vehicle driven by Lindeman. She said she thought the vehicle in front of her was traveling faster than it was, causing her to drive her vehicle into the rear of Lindeman’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers from the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:17 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, North SR 13, north of Effie Mae Street, North Webster. Drivers: Eric A. Scott, 22, Trier Road, Fort Wayne; Luke A. Elliott, 23, East CR 800S, LaFontaine. Scott told police he was driving his vehicle north on SR 13, following the vehicle driven by Elliott when he believes he fell asleep, causing his vehicle to strike the rear of the vehicle driven by Elliott. Damage up to $5,000.
Pierceton
Officers from the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:39 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, SR 13 and CR 725E, Sidney. Drivers: Kyle E. Slater, 28, East CR 1000S, Claypool; Connie J. Hatcher, 65, East CR 350S, Pierceton. Slater told police he was driving his vehicle south on SR 13 and that he was unknowingly accelerating to the point where his vehicle struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Hatcher. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers from the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, North Indiana Avenue, south of North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Sara S. Skow, 54, Tyler Court, Goshen; Alison M. Weaver, 27, East Bristol Street, Elkhart. Skow told police she was driving her vehicle north on Indiana Avenue and that when she reached to get a drink, her vehicle struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Weaver. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:22 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, South Lake Street, south of West Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Izabelle N. Richardson, 17, South Cassandra Lane, Warsaw; Matthew J. Dunn, 22, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Police said Richardson was driving her vehicle east on Market Street and that it struck the vehicle driven by Dunn in the intersection with Lake Street. Richardson complained of chest pain and shortness of breath and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
10:32 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, East US 30 and East CR 200N, Warsaw. Drivers: James A. Overholt, 52, North SR 1, Bryant; Matthew W. Ueber, 58, Albany Court, Fort Wayne. Overholt told police he was traveling westbound on US 30 and was stopped behind the vehicle driven by Ueber when he began proceeding forwarding, thinking that Ueber had also began moving forward. A rear-end collision occurred. Damage up to $2,500.
3:46 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, Anchorage Road, east of SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Jeremiah C. Hunter, 34, A Street, Rochester; Rebecca L. Beer, 41, East Creekside Trail, Syracuse. Hunter told police he was driving his vehicle east on Anchorage Road and began to turn and that his vehicle collided with a vehicle approaching from the west, which he had not previously seen. Damage up to $10,000.
3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, Tiger Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Jarod P. Ilada, 16, South CR 275E, Warsaw. Ilada was observed by Warsaw schools surveillance video backing his vehicle into a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
10:42 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, East Winona Avenue and Northbay Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Orin A. Boyd, 48, South SR 9, Columbia City. Boyd told police he was driving his vehicle west on East Winona Avenue and that he was preparing to turn left when a red passenger car ran the stop sign. He said to avoid a collision, he swerved his vehicle, causing it to strike a utility pole. He said the red car continued east on Winona Avenue. Damage up to $10,000.
7:29 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, West SR 25 and North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Gerald L. Enyeart, 59, West CR 1400N, North Manchester; Robert B. Harting, 43, West CR 1400N, North Manchester. Enyeart told police he was stopped in his vehicle at a traffic light and began turning left when the light turned green. He said he did not see the vehicle driven by Harting stop in front of him, causing a rear-end collision. Harting complained of neck pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $2,500.
5:56 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, South Buffalo Street, south of Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Cody W. Demske, 22, North Washington Street, Warsaw; Jeffery P. Jagger, 47, East Center Street, Warsaw. Demske told police he was driving his vehicle south on Buffalo Street and that while stopped, he felt he was too close to a semi in front of him, causing him to back his vehicle up in the roadway, which then struck the vehicle driven by Jagger. Damage up to $5,000.
