Two From Warsaw Arrested After Stealing Cellphone
WARSAW — Two people from Warsaw were recently arrested after allegedly stealing a cellphone.
Jacob Daniel King, 21, 944 E. Garfield St., Warsaw, is being charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony. Heather Jean Fountain, 28, 944 E. Garfield St., Warsaw, is being charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 8, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department went to an undisclosed location of a Pak-A-Sak Marathon gas station in Kosciusko County in regard to a stolen cellphone. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman who said she accidentally left her cellphone in the bathroom. Once she realized she left her cellphone, the woman went to check the bathroom for it and couldn’t find it.
According to court documents, the woman said Fountain was in the bathroom at the same time. The woman also said Fountain and King often went into the gas station.
On June 20, the officer received information on King selling a cellphone to an ecoATM at Walmart. The officer was able to gain possession of the cellphone from the ecoATM and was able to identify the cellphone as the one that was stolen.
King was previously convicted of auto theft on May 14.
Fountain and King were booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 6.
