Warsaw Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly battering a woman.
Chad James Hugo, 37, 209 E. Ramar Drive, Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 23, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department spoke with a woman in regard to an alleged incident that occurred on July 19.
According to court documents, the woman said she and Hugo were arguing when he became angry, grabbed her by the throat with both hands, lifted her off the ground and shoved her against a kitchen door several times. The woman told the officer she didn’t have any visible injuries but did experience pain.
A child was present during the incident and saw Hugo pick the woman up by her neck and slam her against a door.
The officer later spoke with Hugo, who said he and the woman had been arguing when he became angry and grabbed her by the face.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 4, with a $5,750 surety and cash bond. A no-contact order was also established between Hugo and the woman.
