Janice Ann Hughes
Janice Ann Hughes, 74, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, in her residence.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1944, to Max and Frances (Claybaugh) Brown in Fort Wayne. She was united in marriage on Oct. 25, 1986, to Richard Hughes in Las Vegas, Nev.
She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1963. She was a member of the PSI IOTA X1 sorority and graduated from Indiana University with an associate degree in business with a concentration in marketing. She retired in 1987 from United Telephone Company as an engineer. She enjoyed going to auctions and the casinos. She loved to travel which included trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, the Bahamas and Aruba.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Richard Hughes; a son: Stephen K. (spouse Jim) Bumbaugh, Negaunee, Mich.; two nieces: Kylee Coughenour, Akron; and Keri Williams, Montague, Mich.; a nephew: Michael Karst, Fairlawn, OH.
She was preceded in death by both parents; a brother: Tim Brown; and a sister: Pamela Karst.
A visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Ryan Petgen will officiate the service and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
