Local Democrats Running Commercial During CNN’s Tuesday Night Presidential Debate
KOSCIUSKO — Viewers who tune in for Tuesday night’s Democratic Party presidential debate night may catch a local commercial touting three candidates running for Warsaw City Council.
Kosciusko County Democratic Party Chairman Brian Smith announced on Facebook that they had purchased a one-minute commercial that will run during the debate.
The two-hour event begins at 8 p.m. tonight.
The commercial highlights the candidacies of Sara McNeal-Strahan Lenfesty (she goes by Sara Strahan in the commercial); Roxanne Coffelt and Jack Brunetto.
In the ad, Smith also invites anyone interested to attend the party’s next monthly meeting on Aug. 13.
Smith said they found a supporter to pay for much of the production cost and had the commercial prepared locally.
The ad was lined up through Comcast and will only be seen by Warsaw area viewers.
The debate will feature ten of 20 candidates seeking to win the party’s nomination. Those participating tonight include Spiritualist and author Marianne Williamson; Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.; Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-Texas; former Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo.; former Rep. John Delaney, D-Md.; and Gov. Steve Bullock, D-Mont.
