Seven Arrested After Officers Respond To Underage Drinking Party
WARSAW — Seven people were recently arrested after officers responded to a report of an underage drinking party in Warsaw earlier in July.
Dane Jackson Stookey, 20, 28 Trailside Drive, Winona Lake; Rachel Marie McDonald, 18, 340 E. Levi Lee Road 170, Warsaw; Coby Jackson Cornelius, 19, 1209 E. CR 700S, Claypool; Kray Jacob Menzie, 18, 420 N. Lincoln Park, Warsaw; Tyler Matthew Metzinger, 19, 2325 Lark Lane, Warsaw; Adam Christopher Brown, 19, 1311 Bluebird Drive, Warsaw; and Alexandria Rene Wright, 19, 207 Sandpoint Drive, Warsaw; are each being charged with being minors while in possession of alcohol, a class C misdemeanor.
On Friday, July 19, Warsaw Police officers responded to a report of an underage drinking party at a residence. Officers went to the residence and a man, identified as Metzinger, answered the door. Metzinger told officers he lived there but that the residence was owned by his mother, who was out of town.
While speaking with Metzinger, the officer could see multiple beer bottles and plastic cups in the residence’s kitchen. The officer also saw several people inside the residence. According to court documents, the officer asked him and the rest of the people inside the residence to step outside with their IDs. Six people at the party were released after portable breath tests determined they had not been consuming alcohol.
Metzinger, Brown, Wright, McDonald, Menzie, Cornelius, Stookey and a female under the age of 18 all tested positive on the portable breath test. Two people at the scene who were 21 years old were also allowed to leave.
Metzinger said he already had the alcohol at the residence but would not provide further information on who purchased it.
Metzinger, Brown, Wright, McDonald, Menzie, Cornelius and Stookey were all booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 20, each with a $400 cash bond.
