Rogers Electro-Matics Donates Toward New Playground
SYRACUSE — On Monday, July 22, Lisa Durham of Rogers Electro-Matics delivered a check for $1,000 to Little Lambs Ministry Preschool and Daycare located in Syracuse. Little Lambs is working to raise money for a playground at its second location at Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
Rogers Electro-Matics employees have been raising money to help local kids. All money collected by employees is matched by the company and the employees then decide as a group where to allocate the funds. Durham helps to organize various fundraising events for Rogers Electro-Matics. So far this year, they have been able to contribute money toward North Webster Elementary’s unpaid lunch balances, school supplies to five different teachers in three different schools and a battery for the travel bus at Little Lambs Preschool and Daycare. They also paid for various summer camps for the children of Rogers Electro-Matics employees.
Rogers began its charitable giving program in 2017 when it had adopted Little Lambs as the sole recipient of all funds raised that year. In 2018, they gave to Rose Home North in Syracuse. When they heard this year Little Lambs could use some help, it was an easy decision to make.
The playground will cost $40,000 total. So far, Little Lambs has raised $24,800. They have submitted a grant to KCCF for another $10,000. If they get the grant, they will still need $5,200. If you are interested in helping, contact Mary Jane Miller at (260) 402-3627.
Little Lambs Ministry Preschool and Daycare is currently the only licensed preschool/daycare in Syracuse. The staff is positive and loving. They strive to teach children values, manners, respect for one another and to know Jesus Christ. They offer day care for children 18 months old to 5 years old and before and after school care for kindergarten through fifth grade students. They also have a summer program packed full of activities for the kids to enjoy.
