Former Plymouth Mayoral Candidate Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle While Directing Traffic
SYRACUSE — A road construction worker who ran for mayor in Plymouth earlier this year died Friday when he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic.
Officials have confirmed that Ben Fisher, 29, Plymouth, died after being struck by a pickup truck Friday, July 26.
Fisher worked as a flagger with a construction crew and was directing traffic on SR 13 near Syracuse at the time the accident occurred yesterday afternoon.
According to various news reports. Fisher ran as a Republican for mayor in Plymouth and lost to the incumbent Mayor Mark Senter in May.
