Twelve-Year-Old Boy Pleads Guilty To Shooting State Trooper Father
GRANGER — A 12-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to shooting his father, an Indiana State Trooper, and will spend time in a mental facility.
At a sentencing this week, the juvenile admitted to shooting his father Matthew Makowski in their home back in February, according to officials.
He told police he had been thinking about shooting Makowski since school that day and devised a plan because “He was done with all of that” and “wanted it to end.” Court documents say the boy told officers he wanted a Play Station, an XBox and a computer, and if he didn’t get them, there would be a “part 2.”
The boy was 11 at the time of the shooting.
Officials say his time in the facility will be monitored by the court.
