Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
1:29 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, SR 25, south of CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Connor W. Frentzel, 17, West Catalpa Lane, Warsaw. Frentzel told police he was driving his vehicle north on SR 25 when an animal ran into his path, causing him to swerve and lose control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
9:49 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, South CR 400E, south of East CR 500S, Warsaw. Driver: Sarah L. Level, 55, Shaffer Drive, Warsaw. Level told police she was driving her vehicle north on CR 400E when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
3:58 p.m. Monday, July 22, East Armstrong Road, west of EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Drivers: Zachary M. Lloyd Smith, 16, North CR 400E, Warsaw; Tanya R. Shields, 41, East Oldfield Drive, Leesburg. Lloyd Smith told police he was driving his vehicle east on Armstrong Road and that he saw the vehicle driven by Shields stopped as Shields was waiting to turn. He said he applied his brake but did not see Shields’ vehicle in time to avoid a collision. Lloyd Smith complained of pain to the neck and head and was treated by EMS personnel at the scene. However, it is unclear from the report as to whether Lloyd Smith was transported to a hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, East Center Street and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Jordan M. Gray, 20, North CR 900W, Huntington; Paul M. Kessens, 38, West Old Lake Road, Columbia City. Gray told police he was driving his vehicle west on East Center Street when he looked away from the road briefly. When he looked back, the vehicle driven by Kessens had stopped and Gray said he could not stop his vehicle in time to avoid a rear-end collision. Damage up to $2,500.
