North Webster Library To Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony For New Building On July 31
NORTH WEBSTER — A groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, for the construction of the library’s new building scheduled for completion in 2020. The ceremony will take place immediately south of the North Webster Community Center. The public is invited to attend. The library will close early that day at 3 p.m. so staff and patrons can attend the event, followed by the youth department’s grand finale picnic.
The summer reading program at North Webster Community Public Library concludes Wednesday, July 31, with a grand finale picnic.
Children and teens who have participated in the summer reading clubs and their families are invited to a free hot dog picnic in the North Webster Community Center gym. Doors open at 5 p.m. for games with food served at 6 p.m., followed by prizes and awards.
Saturday, July 27, is the last day that children can turn in their summer reading credits and pick up prizes they have earned. The youth department will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day.
The library will host a special time remembrance for the old North webster School at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in the North Webster Community Center banquet hall. Alumni are invited to attend and bring along their school memorabilia and share their memories about the school, teachers, coaches and classmates. Light refreshments will be served. The old school was recently demolished to make room for the construction of a new library facility.
After a month’s hiatus, the dance exercise class Let’s Move is starting up again at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. The class meets every Thursday evening to have fun dancing to videos as a form of exercise and learning new dance steps. The class is free and appropriate for adults of all ages and fitness levels.
