Claypool Town Council Approves Sign, Shed At Mobile Home Park
CLAYPOOL — The Claypool Town Council approved installations of an entrance sign and a storage shed at Claypool Mobile Home Park during its meeting on Tuesday, July 16.
Joe Nelson, an owner of the mobile home park, was present at the meeting to discuss the installations with the town council.
“I’m looking at having a commercial water softener for the park and I need to house it in something,” said Nelson.
Nelson presented the idea of moving a shed located at the back of the park to Lot 1 for storing the water softener system. He also asked for approval of a 28-foot by 14-foot shed on the property for storage of a mower and other maintenance items. Nelson also requested permission to place a sign with the trailer park’s name at the entrance. The park is located on Warner Drive, near South Graceland Avenue.
“These items have already been brought forward to the APC [Area Plan Commission], and I just need permission from you to continue,” said Nelson.
A letter from the town council approving the installation of the sign and shed will be presented to Nelson this week.
For the month of June, the Claypool Police Department responded to 181 calls for service. Officer Randy Bays told council members that one of the town’s squad vehicles is having engine issues. The council asked Bays to make an appointment with Rice Ford-Lincoln, Warsaw, in order to diagnose the problem.
The council’s next meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19.
