Martin J. Holbrook
Martin J. Holbrook, 82, Warsaw, passed away at 7:47 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Avalon Village in Ligonier, at the age of 82.
He was born on March 10, 1937, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Charles “Milt” Holbrook and Elizabeth “Eliza” Holbrook. On July 7, 1956, he was married to Nora (Williams) Holbrook. They shared 40 years of marriage together before she passed away on Jan. 8, 1997.
He moved to Kosciusko County, in 1963 and worked in the maintenance department of Dalton Foundry in Warsaw retiring in 1997. He visited many churches these past few years, he was always a kind and friendly man who never shied away from fellowship with others. He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and loved to restore old Mustangs. Martin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He would most want to be remembered as a loyal, hard-working man that loved his family and friends dearly.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son: David (Judy) Holbrook, Leesburg; two daughters: Lora Sizemore, Warsaw; Bernice Morie, Warsaw; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters: Annie Adams, Stoney Ridge, Ohio; and Beth Lee Wallen, Prestonsburg, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, twelve brothers, and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Luther Bailey. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
