Jo Ann Reed Pound, 84, a long-time resident of Kosciusko County, passed away at 7:39 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2019, in Winona Lake. She was born Feb. 16, 1935, to Ronald and Doris (Grant) Reed in Plymouth. She was united in marriage on Nov. 3, 1954, to Loren J. Pound.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953. She was a full-time homemaker and helped to manage the Pound family farm. She was a true helpmate to Loren. She was a member of the Leesburg Methodist church for many years, serving in various capacities. She loved her family and the family farm. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loren Pound; daughters: Terrie (Stan) Trout of Fort Wayne; Karen (Doug) Conley, of Westerville, Ohio; Linda (Jim) Howard of Leesburg; a son, Jeff Pound of Leesburg; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by two bothers: Max Reed of Warsaw; and Robert Reed of Chicago, Ill.; formerly having resided in Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a great grandson.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, July 18, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 19. Chaplain Bryan Benjamin will officiate the service in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Interment will be in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg.
