Lane Restrictions Expected As Bridgework On SR 13 In Syracuse Begins Tuesday
KOSCIUSKO — The Indiana Department of Transportation recently announced that traffic will be restricted to one lane on SR 13 over Turkey Creek in the town of Syracuse on or after Tuesday, July 16, weather permitting.
Bridge rehabilitation will take place between Boston and Henry Streets. Motorists can expect to see heavy equipment placing a temporary barrier wall, as well as a temporary traffic signal to alternate vehicles over the 16-foot-wide, single-lane bridge.
Work on the SR 13 bridge over Turkey Creek is expected to continue through late August, weather permitting.
Be prepared for stopped traffic while the contractor completes the bridge rehabilitation. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
The construction contract was awarded to R.L. McCoy for $1.8 million and includes structure maintenance and pipelining in Whitley and Kosciusko counties.
