Warsaw Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly battering a woman.
Jacob Bryan Truman, 26, 212 S. Union St. C., Warsaw, is being charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 26, a Warsaw Police officer went to a residence regarding a domestic battery report and spoke with a woman who said she was battered by Truman.
According to court documents, Truman went to the residence to take care of a child while the woman was at work. She told the officer that Truman was acting odd and that she didn’t feel comfortable leaving the child alone with Truman. This caused a verbal argument.
The woman said the argument became physical when Truman grabbed her shirt and pushed her up against the wall. Truman then left the residence. The child was present in the residence during the battery, court paperwork said.
The officer contacted Truman through the woman’s cellphone and asked him to return to the scene. After being interviewed, Truman was arrested and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.
Truman has been released on a $6,000 cash bond and has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Kosciusko Superior Court II.
