Buni R. Leininger
Buni R. Leininger, 70, rural Akron, passed unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1948, in Rochester, Indiana to Edythe E. (Cochran) and Dail R. Barber Sr.
She married on June 27, 1970, in the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church to William A. Leininger, he survives.
She was a baker and a housewife. She enjoyed her time staying home to raise her children.
She graduated from Akron High School in 1966. She furthered her education at Indiana State University and Grace College obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree. She attended the Beaver Dam United Methodist for many years. She enjoyed helping and supporting her husband in many positions involved with the 4-H Fair as well as school activities. She organized meals and worked any role that needed filled at the Indiana State Fair for 16 years. Her family has shown and been affiliated with the Kosciusko County Fair and the Indiana State Fair for 40 years. She traveled to attend numerous events for her grandchildren and always was one of their biggest fans. She loved doing word searches, crafting, collecting anything sheep related, mowing her yard, and tending her flowerbeds. She was very active with the Wheels on Fire Cancer Crusaders and was founding member.
Survivors and place of residence her husband; her sons: Thad (Rochelle) Leininger, Pierceton; Aron (Kayla) Leininger, Akron; daughter: Cami (Dave)Shriver, Akron; grandchildren: Jordyn, Jaden, Delaney, Cooper, Tucker, Miranda, and Allie; brother: Dail “Butch” (Jan) Barber, North Manchester; brother-in-law: Larry Jackson, Warsaw; sister-in-law: Judy McCartney, Plymouth; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, a sister and a brother-in-law.
A memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 15, at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana with Pastor Butch Troke officiating.
Memorial Visitation hours will be from 1-7 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana.
