Valis G. Owens — UPDATED
Valis G. Owens, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 10:02 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2019, in his residence. He was born on July 3, 1939, to Butler and Annie (Whitaker) Owens in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was united in marriage on July 27, 1956, to Janice (Holbrook) Owens in Warsaw.
Mr. Owens was a graduate of Silver Lake High School. He has been retired for 15 years in which he was a production worker formerly employed with Huffer Foundry, Bourbon Foundry and Spartech Plastics in Warsaw.
Valis Owens is survived by his wife: Janice (Holbrook) Owens; children: David (Judy) Owens of Dayton, Ohio; Rick (Karen) Owens of Silver Lake; Terry (Susan) Owens of Heathsville, Va.; Kathy (Mark) Schott of Fort Wayne; Linda Donovan of South Bend; and Lisa (Kim) Derf of Silver Lake; sisters: Maggie (Elmer) England of Warsaw; Evaline Spangle of Columbia City; brother: Dale (Phyllis) of Paintsville, Ky. In addition, he is survived by 19 grand children and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son; Scott Owens, siblings; Gale Owens, Dalis Owens, Merleen Smith, and Garnie Bradford.
His visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 11, in McHatton- Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Interment will be private at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating.
