Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
8:53 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, North SR 13 and East CR 300N, Pierceton. Drivers: Megan L. Dawson, 18, North Bobwhite Drive, Warsaw; Alyson L. Nicodemus, 22, South CR 450W, South Whitley. Police said Dawson was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 13 and began to turn left without warning and into the the path of the vehicle driven by Nicodemus. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:25 a.m. Sunday, July 7, Ranch Road and Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Annette R. Sipple, 44, Heron Boulevard, Warsaw; Kelly L. Shewman, 34, East Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. Sipple told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on Ranch Road behind the vehicle driven by Shewman and that she believed Shewman’s vehicle had begun to proceed, causing her to drive her vehicle into the rear of the vehicle driven by Shewman. Damage up to $2,500.
6:10 p.m. Friday, July 5, SR 15 and CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Mary B. Weckerlin, 63, Pathway Lane, West Lafayette; Diana K. Hammonds, 73, East Smith Street, Milford. Weckerlin told police she was driving her vehicle on SR 15 and was stopped at a traffic signal behind the vehicle driven by Hammonds. She said Hammonds’ vehicle and trailer began to proceed and then suddenly stopped and she could not stop her vehicle in time to avoid a rear-end collision. Damage up to $5,000.
4:44 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, West Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Larry R. Brown, 59, East CR 600N, Monterey; Steven P. Sudhoff, 61, South Country Club Road, Warsaw. Brown told police he was backing his vehicle out of a parking space and backed it into a parked vehicle he had not previously seen. Damage up to $2,500.
11:12 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, Anchorage Road, east of Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Leonardo D. Medina Quiroga, 20, West Old Road 30, Warsaw; Janet L. Dome, 44, East CR 850S, Claypool. Medina Quiroga told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on Lake City Highway in the right lane and said he thought the red light ahead would be turning green, allowing stopped traffic ahead to move forward before he arrived at the intersection. He said the light stayed red and he was unable to stop his vehicle before it struck the vehicle driven by Dome. Police reported Medina Quiroga’s speech as slurred and his movements as lethargic. A vehicle search was conducted, which produced a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia. Medina Quiroga was sent to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a blood draw and chemical test. Damage up to $2,500.
