KOSCIUSKO — Etna Green Resident Angela Flenar has filed a declaration of candidacy for the Etna Township trustee position.
A vacancy has occurred in that role due to the recent resignation of the current trustee, Gary Sponseller, who has served in that position for 16 years.
Flenar has lived in Etna Green the majority of her adult life and said she would like to continue building and improving on what Sponseller has done for the township.
Flenar is employed at Montessori Academy Edison Lakes in Mishawaka. She has two adult sons.
Flenar said she has some business background, as she previously owned and operated a beauty shop for eight years.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Eligible applicants for the trustee position must be a resident of Etna Township, Kosciusko County, a Republican in good standing and must not have a felony in their history.
Declarations of candidacy and statements of economic interests are available at the clerk’s office and must be notarized and filed with Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan no later than 72 hours prior to the appointment, or by 2 p.m. Monday, July 8.
The Etna Township Trustee vacancy will be filled and announced at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.
