Two Local Men Arrested After Officers Respond To Drug Overdose
WARSAW — Two local men were arrested for drug charges after being present in a residence during a drug overdose.
Jacob Alexander Khun, 20, 207 S. Clay St., Claypool, also showing an address of 1608 Tippecanoe Drive B2, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of cocaine, level 6 felonies; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
Carter Randel Pompey, 20, 207 S. Clay St., Claypool, also showing an address of 1600 Chestnut St. A., Winona Lake, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, level 6 felonies; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On May 18, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department was dispatched to an apartment regarding an overdose. Upon arrival, the officer saw a male subject performing CPR on a female. The female was administered Narcan and then transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Khun and Pompey were two subjects present in the residence at the time of the overdose. According to court documents, Khun told the officer that he consumed the same substance the female ingested. EMS conducted checks on Khun and cleared him.
While searching the residence, the officer found a white powdery substance that Khun and the female ingested on a cellphone. The substance tested positive for heroin and cocaine. In a bedroom belonging to Pompey and Khun, the officer found a metal smoking pipe and a glass smoking device. The officer also found a plastic bag containing a white substance that tested positive for cocaine.
Khun and Pompey were booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 1, each with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
