Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
12:57 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, North CR 300E, north of East CR 750N, Leesburg. Driver: Glen L. Knisley, 89, Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Knisley said a deer ran onto the roadway from the west, striking his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
6:35 am. Tuesday, July 2, East CR 700N, west of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Margaret J. Komdeur, 48, East CR 700N, Leesburg. Komdeur’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
5:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, North CR 200E, north of East CR 750N, Leesburg. Driver: Arturo Rodriguez, 22, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Rodriguez was on CR 200E when the vehicle he was driving left the road. Rodriguez stated he thought the brakes failed. He said the vehicle was not his and that he borrowed it from a co-worker. Rodriguez had an expired driver’s license from Puerto Rico. He was cited for not having a valid operator’s license. Damage up to $10,000.
12:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, East C 200N, Warsaw. A male called and stated that someone backed into his vehicle during the overnight hours. Damage up to $5,000.
11:10 a.m. Monday, July 1, US 30, west of SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Melissa K. Linder, 45, Archer Court, Columbia City. Linder’s vehicle rear-ended a box truck. Linder stated the box truck left the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
1:11 p.m. Friday, June 28, SR 15 and West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Tyler M. Khamsao, 33, EMS T26 Lane, Leesburg; and Christian T. Riggs, 16, West Street, Milford. Prior to the collision, Khamsao was traveling east on CR 600N, approaching SR 15. He reported he began to turn onto SR 15 but stopped because Riggs’ vehicle was approaching at a high rate of speed. Riggs stated that Khamsao pulled onto SR 15 while on a cell phone. Khamsao denied cell phone use. Riggs’ vehicle struck the driver’s side of Khamsao’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:27 p.m. Sunday, June 20, Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. Driver: Kellie S. Parker, 16, Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. As Parker was entering a private drive and approaching the garage door, she pushed the accelerator instead of the brakes. The vehicle then struck a stone wall to the left of the garage door opening. Damage up to $5,000.
12:30 a.m. Sunday, June 30, East Pierceton Road, Warsaw. Driver: Chandler E. Paul, 20, St. Mary’s Drive, Warsaw. An officer made a traffic stop on Paul’s vehicle due to a headlight being out. Paul advised the officer the headlight was out because her vehicle had just struck a deer on Pierceton Road. Damage up to $2,500.
