Potawatomi Zoo Visits Library
Potawatomi Zoo brought their Zoo-to-You program to the Milford Library on June 26. A full house listened to the speaker talk about each of the four animals visiting the library while two zoo docents walked through the crowd so people could see the animals close up. Spadefoot frogs, a pancake tortoise, two Lesser Hedgehog Tenrecs and a Three-Banded armadillo were the animals introduced to the group.
Everyone had a chance to ask questions about what the animals eat, where they live and how old they are. At the end of the program, everyone lined up to touch three of the animals. The frogs could not be handled because they absorb everything through their skin and we did not want to harm them. Everyone attending enjoyed meeting the animals and learning about them.
